Celebrating Women in Business: 12 Years of Busylizzy Maternity Club
This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the incredible work of Busylizzy Maternity Club and their female franchise Business. For 12 years, Busylizzy has been a go-to resource for parents looking for flexible working options that fit in around family life. The company has consistently provided inspiring and empowering opportunities for women to succeed in business. Let’s take a look at what makes Busylizzy so special and why it’s such an important part of the female business landscape.
What is Busylizzy?
Busylizzy is a Maternity club that provides flexible pregnancy, postnatal fitness classes, baby classes, social events and workshops for new and expecting parents. They offer a wide range of activities including classes, workshops, and social events all designed to be fun for parents and children alike! What makes them stand out from other clubs is their commitment to helping parents build meaningful connections with their children while on maternity leave. It’s not just a class, but a full club experience to support women embarking on their first steps into motherhood and beyond..
To mark its twelfth anniversary this International Women’s Day (March 8th), Busylizzy is focusing on celebrating its female franchise entrepreneurs. They are shining a spotlight on female leaders in business who are inspiring other women to take charge of their lives and reach their potential as well as setting themselves out as incredible role models for their children.
Founder Julie said, “The Busylizzy Franchise Business is about giving women the control to manage their own business around their young family”. Julie continued “We’ve achieved this through a membership business model backbone, easy app booking for customers and a fun environment for everyone to operate in”.
Behind every Busylizzy franchise club is a mum who coordinates pregnancy, postnatal fitness and baby classes plus social events and workshops for their local community. Our franchise partners do an incredible job providing a support network within their local area and do so whilst juggling their own little ones and family life. Every franchise owner is inspiring other women to take charge of their lives and reach their potential as well as setting themselves out as incredible role models for their own children.
10th Year Anniversary
At the heart of BusyLizzy is a support team for franchisee’s to lean on and get help running their business. This includes Rebecca the Online Platform Manager and Victoria, Social Media Manager. Coinciding with International Women’s Day on 8th March, Victoria, who has been an integral part of the company since its founding in 2011, is celebrating her 10th work anniversary. During her 10 year tenure, she has developed the social media platform across the network and been a great support for franchise owners embarking on on their social media journey. Her dedication to the business from initial start up to multi site national brand has been incredible and we’re delighted to celebrate Victoria’s milestone anniversary with her this month.
Victoria said;
“WOW! It’s been an amazing 10 years! I’ve really enjoyed seeing the Busylizzy brand grow and I love being part of such a supportive team.
When I started with Busylizzy back in 2011 (originally as a member in Guildford) – I loved the concept straight away as did both my young boys. After a year or so, I came on board the head office team working flexibly from home which meant I still got to do school runs – something which was really important for me to do and still is with my youngest son. In 2014, we decided to move from Surrey and Busylizzy supported our move to Wiltshire. All the team work remotely from different parts of the country and we all have young children in tow. It sounds cliche but it is like a family! ‘Mums supporting Mums’ is one of our USP’s in the business and that applies to us at HQ too!
As anyone who works in social media knows, it’s a fast paced world and things change all the time – it certainly keeps me on my toes! A particular career highlight of mine was the introduction of our support Hub which came about during the pandemic. I’m really proud of how we created a safe space for women to connect, enjoy some exercise and get parenting advice and guidance.
Over the years, I am thrilled to have been able to help so many women with their social media as they take their first steps into franchising. If you’re thinking about taking the plunge – it’s not as scary as you think and you’ll be joining a fantastic team!”
Empowering Women Through Flexibility
One key element that sets BusyLizzy apart from other business opportunities is its commitment to flexibility. As Julie said in an interview last year: “I believe strongly in flexibility when it comes to running my business…it allows me to provide support for those who might otherwise not have access to traditional childcare services because they have jobs or lifestyles that don’t fit into 9-5 hours”. Our focus on flexibility helps ensure that all types of parents can benefit from having access to a flexible work opportunity.
This International Women’s Day we celebrate our female accomplishments over the past twelve years as well as Busylizzy’s commitment to empowering women through flexible business opportunities. We encourage everyone this day—parents or not—to take stock of what they have accomplished thus far and consider how they can continue working towards more equality in our society both personally and professionally!
Happy International Women’s Day everyone!
