I loved being pregnant!

Yes there were aches and pains, being absolutely shattered and wanting to be sick everytime I smelt perfume. Towards the end my bump was so big I felt like I was walking uphill with skis on but despite all of that it still felt amazing. After what had been a struggle to get pregnant and losing our first child to miscarrage, knowing that I was finally growing a tiny human with tiny toes and fingers and a mind of its own made me feel so proud.

Having a rapidly transforming body can feel very weird and uncomfortable. Motherhood is an awkward, difficult, yet empowering journey. It's totally ok to dislike being pregnant because you know in the end you'll love it.

This can lead parents to feel exasperated and uncertain about how to discipline and set limits at times. Conscious and respectful parenting aims to help parents respond to their child in a way that feels considered and sensitive, so that both child and adult can feel connected and understood. The approach maintains the ethos that understanding your child’s behaviour is key to working through it.
