As Britain starts to enjoy meeting again with small groups of friends and family, Julie Clabby Founder of Busylizzy Family Club has this week confirmed that a range of outdoor fitness classes will be rolled out across many of the Busylizzy clubs in July.
Parents will once again be able to attend a selection of our Mummy&Me postnatal fitness classes as well as Mumstobee pregnancy classes – all hosted outdoors with strict social distancing guidance in place.
Busylizzy takes its responsibilities regarding the current health crisis very seriously. The mental and physical well-being of our members has been hugely impacted by the virus with some new parents unable to socialise and finding themselves in isolation with a newborn baby. Exercising with like minded parents will be a key element in enhancing the immune system, improving mental wellbeing and protecting families from this virus.
As the UK’s largest family club operator with members in clubs across Surrey, Gloucestershire, Berkshire, London, Sussex, there is nothing more important to Busylizzy than the health and safety of its members, and Julie Clabby says the objective is to creative a safe and supportive environment in which our mums can once again come together to enjoy fitness and fun with their little ones.
From July, selected Busylizzy clubs will host Bootcamp, Buggyfitness classes in local parks as well as Pilates, Yoga and pregnancy classes where possible. The classes will start with small groups of up to 6 adults (5 members with their baby in a car seat or buggy to form a household bubble), in line with local authority guidance, and the classes will work for larger groups, safely and with full social distancing, as that becomes possible.
Michelle Lane, Managing Director said “I’m absolutely thrilled that as a business we’re bringing back local classes in clubs across our network! As a franchise, we are all local mums running our clubs and it’s been a tough few months but we’ve all pulled together to get through this really difficult time and I’m incredibly proud of our club owners. I’m so pleased that we are able to start reintroducing local outdoor fitness classes for pregnant and new mums; we can go back to helping to build that community of like-minded parents who have missed out on this valuable face to face interaction with other families. Our virtual classes are here to stay for good so for any clubs who aren’t able to launch their outdoor classes just yet, our huge bank of 23 weekly classes will be available.”
Amy Clarke who owns the Busylizzy branch in Cheltenham added “Some of our members have had their baby during lockdown, not being able to join any classes or meet other new mums yet – we want to make sure their maternity leave is what they hoped for.” Amy continued, “Our beautiful outdoor space in Naunton Park is perfect for some outdoor Mummy & Me classes – plenty of room to socially distance during the class and even for a coffee after!”
Samantha Wilson owner of Busylizzy Woking says “I am so excited to be putting on some local face to face classes again. It’s so important, especially for new Mum’s, to have a supportive community around them as they adjust to life with a little one. Relaunching outdoor classes will allow us to get fit and have fun with our babies together once again“.
Louise Zimmerman owner of Busylizzy Epsom & Leatherhead who is starting classes on Monday 13th July said “I’m so ready to get our mums back to classes in the new normal! I think doing a variety of classes outside with a small group of mums will make the summer so much more fun!”
Julie Clabby who founded Busylizzy in 2011 added “Obviously the recent good weather makes it a great time to relaunch our Mummy&Me classes. More and more exercise is going outside and we believe the ‘new normal’ in exercising will be all about embracing the ‘great outdoors’. Our priority is that we offer our members a fully supported and flexible experience so our online class provision ‘Busylizzy LIVE’ which live streams 23 mummy fitness, baby, toddler and pregnancy classes each week is here to stay and will underpin our physical classes giving our members a blended experience so they can have fun, stretch and sweat in the park and also online at home.”
