2021 may have been an unsettling year, but for Busylizzy, the UK’s number 1 family club, this year has been memorable for all the right reasons.
We kicked off the year in lockdown but this didn’t deter our team spirit. Our online classes continued to support new and expectant parents across the globe and our instructor team performed an incredible job of hosting classes from their homes and studios all over the U.K.
In the Spring we welcomed Jo and June to our Busylizzy family with the successful launch of their new clubs Earlsfield, SW London and Hertford. Later in the year saw the opening of Greenwich and Blackheath by new owner Weina. All new clubs are getting great feedback with their offering of pregnancy, postnatal fitness and baby classes in their local communities.
A particular highlight this year and special mention goes to Amy who owns the Busylizzy branch in Clapham. As well as re-opening her club to parents in May, Amy set up and launched a 2nd location in Balham and has recently celebrated her son’s 1’st Birthday. What a supermum! A special mention must go to Katherine, owner of our Richmond & Twickenham club who picked up an award for her business at The Great British Franchise Awards 2021 in June.
It’s been a busy year for new baby’s in our team with our franchise owners in Fleet, Kingston, Richmond and Farnham all welcoming new additions to their families.
Our brand awareness continued to receive a massive boost in October when we exhibited at The London Baby Show. It was so lovely to meet parents face to face again!
During the Summer months, being one of the only mum & baby class providers that doesn’t break up for the school holidays means our clubs are busier than ever offering a wrap around service for new and expectant parents both online and in local studios. And whilst our clubs were busy hosting classes, our founder Julie was shortlisted at The Great British Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
Busylizzy’s national expansion plans continue and we are closing the year on a high with 15 territories across the U.K, servicing thousands of families across multiple venues and employing over 100+ instructors.
It’s been a challenging year for many and we are incredibly proud of our team for being able to continue to support young families on their journey from bump to baby and beyond. So much happens behind the scenes to make our classes happen – both online and locally – and it’s the passion of our franchise owners, instructors, support team and members that makes Busylizzy such a special club to be part of.
As we draw to an end of our 10th year in business, we wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and exciting 2022
